Understanding Contemporary Art

This seminar offers an introduction to international key trends and movements that have shaped the past 40 years, while providing a brief overview of the Cairo arts scene post 1970’s.

It will focus on the definition of what contemporary means and how it can be appreciated and valued, introducing the attendants to all the different key media (video, installations etc..) and pivotal players which have emerged in the past 4 decades.
