Jamal Bassiouni was born in Alexandria, Egypt, in 1993, where he lives and works. He holds a BFA (2016) with the Highest Honors from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Alexandria. His graduation project tackled color relations and their impact on modern art.
Bassiouni has an MFA (2019) in Oil Painting and Drawing from the Fine Arts University in Alexandria. His thesis revolved around Beliefs in Ancient Egyptian paintings. Since 2016, he has worked as a workshop trainer at Arts School at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in Alexandria. He has participated in several Youth Salons and General Salons through the Ministry of Culture in Egypt, besides exhibiting in many Egyptian cities. He participated in videography workshop by the Ecole Superieure d’Art in Aix en Provence in 2014, and the Biennale des jeunes créateurs de l’Europe et de la Méditerranée in 2015.
